Description Of Change: A new operator monitor group is now used on the machines listed above. This article illustrates the removal and installation process for these monitors. The new monitor addresses the issues that would cause the previous versions to not power up or go blank

Note: D8 R/T machines with pilot hydraulics do not use this display. Verify the machine configuration before applying Service Magazine.

Adaptable To: The following changes are adaptable to the products within the listed serial numbers, and are effective with all products after the listed serial numbers.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove four torx head screws (A).

  2. Disconnect three harnesses (B) from the control group.

  3. Remove five bolts (C).

  4. Ensure that the replacement display is 541-5063 Operator Monitor Gp .02 or greater.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install five bolts (C) and torque to 1.76 ± 0.28 N·m (15 ± 2.51 lb in).

  2. Connect three harnesses (B) to the control group.

  3. Install four torx head screws (A) and torque to 6 ± 1 N·m (53 ± 9 lb in).

G7P Ethernet Flashing

Note: If the display boots up with key off and then returns to a rest state, the display is not flashed. Proceed with following steps.

Note: Use the Ethernet on the machine to flash the display. If flashing does not work, proceed to "Harness Procedure" for extra harness.

  1. Open Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat ET) and navigate the menus to modify the preference settings.

  2. Select the "Ethernet Direct Connection".

  3. Select "Intel® Ethernet Connection (5) I219-LM".

  4. Connect to "Winflash".

  5. Save the settings.

  6. Allow Cat® ET time to establish a connection to the display.

  7. Open the file browser.

  8. Navigate to the flash file.

  9. Select "Yes" to continue.

  1. Make a harness with (J1) connected to the keyswitch and power supply and (J2) connect to the four Ethernet 1 ports. (J2) will have a Cat 5 Ethernet connector at the other end of the harness. Plug into the computer.

  2. Proceed to "G7P Ethernet Flashing" and flash the display.
