Muffler - Remove and Install
Removal Procedure
Start By:
- Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".

Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact the skin. |

- Open the engine hood.
- Loosen clamp (1) and remove exhaust pipe (2) .

- Loosen muffler clamp (3) .

- Attach a suitable hoist and a suitable lifting sling to muffler assembly (4), as shown.

- Remove two bolts (5), the washers, and the nuts from the muffler support bracket.

- Use the hoist in order to remove the muffler assembly. The weight of the muffler assembly is 23 kg (50 lb).
Installation Procedure
- Use a suitable hoist and a suitable lifting sling in order to install the muffler assembly. The weight of the muffler assembly is 23 kg (50 lb).

- Install two bolts (5), the washers, and the nuts on the muffler support bracket.

- Remove the hoist and the lifting sling from muffler assembly (4) .
- Tighten muffler clamp (3) .

- Install exhaust pipe (2) and tighten clamp (1) .

- Close the engine hood.
End By: Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
