1. Use Tool (A) to install retaining ring (3).

2. Turn the lateral control rod (rear axle housing).

3. Use Tool (B) and a suitable press to assemble bearing (4) into the bore until the bearing is seated against retaining ring (3).

   Note: During the installation of bearing (4), lower the temperature of the bearing to −50 °C (−58.0 °F).

   Note: A band retains the bearing race. The bearing race is split into two parts. After the bearing is installed by approximately one-third of the final depth, remove the band. Finish the installation of the bearing.

4. Turn the lateral control rod (rear axle housing). Use Tool (A) to install retaining ring (2).

5. Repeat Steps 1 through 4 for the bearing that is at the opposite end of the lateral control rod (rear axle housing).
