Removal Procedure

1. Remove six bolts (2) from engine access panel (1) on the right side of the machine (lower panel). Remove the access panel.

2. Put identification marks on two wires (5). Disconnect wires (5) from the alternator.

3. Remove two clips (3) that hold the wires to the alternator.

4. Loosen bolts (6) and move the alternator toward the engine.

5. Remove two V-belts (7) from the alternator pulley.

6. Remove bolts (6) and remove alternator (4) from the machine.

Installation Procedure

1. Place alternator (4) in position and install bolts (6). Do not tighten the bolts.

2. Position V-belts (7) over the alternator pulley.

3. Move the alternator away from the engine in order to put tension on V-belts (7). Tighten bolts (6). Adjust the tension on the belts.

   Note: Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7156, "Alternator Belts and Fan Belts - Inspect/Adjust/Replace" for the proper adjusting procedure.

4. Connect wires (5) to the alternator. Install clips (3) that hold the wires to the alternator.

5. Put engine access panel (1) in position and install bolts (2) .
