Cleaner Bar Tips - Replace

  • Remove two nuts (1) , two bolts and the scraper arm (2) from the cleaner bar.

  • Drive the pin out of the tip from the retainer side of the tip. Remove the tip from the retainer.

  • Clean the adapter, the pin and the retainer.

  • Install the retainer in the groove in the side of the adapter.

  • Install a new tip over the retainer. Install the pin.

  • Install the scraper arm, two bolts and two nuts on the cleaner bar. Slide the scraper arm so that the clearance between the tip and the wheel drum is 12 mm (0.5 inch).

  • Tighten the nuts to a torque of 740 ± 80 N·m (545 ± 60 lb ft). After a few hours of operation, tighten the nuts again.
