SUBJECT: Drive Shaft U-Joint Bolts May Not Have the Proper Torque on Certain Motor Graders

PROBLEM: The torque on the four bolts for the drive shaft u-joint may not be correct.

SOLUTION:

(1) 0S-1604 Bolts

 

Check the torque on four bolts (1). The four bolts should be tightened to 160 +/- 25 N-m (118 +/- 18 lb ft). If the bolts are loose, contact Product Support for the Motor Graders at the following phone number.
