Improved Counterweight Group Eases Retaining Rod Installation{7056}

Usage:


583R (2XS) Pipelayers

Description of Change: The retaining rod holes in the counterweight sections have been enlarged on the 583R Pipelayer. The retaining rods have also been lengthened to increase thread engagement in the bosses in the counterweight frame.


Counterweight Assemblies

(1) Retaining rod hole in 134-9959 Counterweight Assembly
(2) Retaining rod hole in 134-9958 Counterweight Assembly

Adaptable To: The new 134-9958 and 134-9959 Counterweight Assemblies are a direct replacement for the existing counterweight assemblies of the same part number. The new counterweight assemblies are effective with the 583R (2XS434) Pipelayer. The new counterweight assemblies are adaptable to 583R (2XS1-433) Pipelayers. The existing 134-9958 and 134-9959 Counterweight Assemblies can be updated by increasing holes (1) and (2) from 70 mm (2.75 inch) to 105 mm (4.15 inch) diameter.


Retaining Rod Assembly

The new 167-6864 Rod Assembly has increased in length (A) from 533.4 mm (21 inch) to 583.4 mm (23 inch). The new 167-6865 Rod Assembly has increased in length (A) from 457.2 mm (18 inch) to 507.2 mm (20 inch). The new 167-6864 Rod Assembly is a direct replacement for the existing 134-8146 Rod Assembly. The new 167-6865 Rod Assembly is a direct replacement for the existing 134-8149 Rod Assembly. The new rod assemblies are effective with the 583R (2XS434) Pipelayer. The new rod assemblies are adaptable to 583R (2XS1-433) Pipelayers.
