Usage:

Challenger 75C (4KK),
Challenger 75D (5AR),
Challenger 85C (9TK),
Challenger 85D (4GR) Agricultural Tractors

A new feature of the soon to be released ET 2.4 version will be the automated 1 cylinder and 4 cylinder cutout diagnostics for machine engines. This short three minute test is designed to inform the technician which cylinder is not operating properly by giving an "OK" or "NOT OK" result after the test.

The "NOT OK" test result will indicate which cylinder is not functioning properly, however a "NOT OK" test result does not always mean that the injector for that cylinder is faulty. If "NOT OK" is the test result, always check for failure modes such as loose connector wires, improper valve settings, hold down bolt height, etc. before replacing an injector. The following chart shows the test parameters for the cylinder cutout test.

Always use the cylinder cutout test in conjunction with the service manual. The service manual is the complete diagnostic path.

After the repair, perform the cylinder cutout test again in order to be sure that the problem has been corrected.
