Description of Change: The surface finish of the 136-1854 Drive Gear has been improved to prevent seal leakage caused by microscopic scratches from the rough grinding operation. The 136-1854 Drive Gear is part of the 121-7514 Pump Group (differential lube).
Adaptable To: The improved 136-1854 Drive Gear went into effect in the fourth quarter of 1998 on Challenger E-Series Agricultural Tractors. The improved drive gear is adaptable to all earlier C-Series, D-Series, and E-Series Challenger Agricultural Tractors. Pumps with the improved drive gears have a date code on the end of the shaft of "J8" or later. J = 10th month and 8 = year; i.e. 10/1998. The date code is only visible when the pump is not installed on the machine.
