A Port Now Provided In The Engine Oil Filter Group For Scheduled Oil Sampling (S.0.S.) {7542,1306,1051}

D350E (9LR),
D400E (2YR) Articulated Trucks

Description of Change: A port is now provided in the engine oil filter group for S·O·S. The port is located on the oil filter base cover that is attached to the air cleaner mounting bracket.

Adaptable To: The port for engine oil S·O·S. is in effect with D350E (9LR283) and D400E (2YR405) Articulated Trucks. The S.·O·S port can be added to earlier machines using the following method and the parts shown in the Chart 1.

1. Remove the mounting bolts (1) that hold the engine oil filter base to the engine air cleaner mounting assembly (2). Move the oil filter base away from the air cleaner mounting assembly.

2. Modify the engine air cleaner mounting assembly using the dimensions given in Illustration 2 and Chart 2.

3. Install the new parts on the engine oil filter base as shown in Illustration 3 and 4.

4. Mount the engine oil filter base on the modified air cleaner mounting assembly using the original mounting bolts.
