Increased Tightening Specification Improves Retention Of Thrust Washer Screws In Final Drive {4051}

Description of Change: Tighten four 8C-7562 Screws (1) to a torque of 28 ± 7 N·m (20.6 ± 5.2 lb ft). Apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock to screws prior to installation. The new tightening specification for the thrust washer screws will prevent damage to the first reduction planetary carrier and the second reduction sun gear.

Adaptable To: This tightening specification is effective with 793B Truck (1HL484, 486, 487, 491-Up). This tightening specification is effective with Remanufactured OR-8287 Final Drive & Wheel Group (2388-Up). This tightening specification is adaptable to all 793 (3SJ) Trucks.
