Description of Change: The cold start advance solenoid used on the fuel injection pump groups of the 3054 and 3056 Engines is now available through the Caterpillar parts distribution system. This solenoid has been made serviceable so the fuel injection pump does not need to be removed from the engine for repair by an authorized Standyne® Dealer in order to correct a minor solenoid fault or damage.

Adaptable To: The 174-8831 Solenoid (cold start advance) is available as a serviceable repair part for the following fuel injector pump groups:

* 141-6392
* 145-8656
* 147-1735
* 147-5512

These fuel injection pump groups are found on emissions certified 3054 and 3056 Engines listed above.
