New Turbocharger Supports Help Prevent Watercooled Exhaust Manifold Cracking{1059,1052}

Usage:

3516 (29Z) Marine;
3516 (25Z) Marine Auxiliary Engines

Description of Change: A new turbocharger support group is used on the listed engine models. The supports in this new group connect the turbocharger turbine housings to the engine exhaust outlet casting. Without these supports, turbocharger vibration can lead to cracks in the weld joint between the steel outer shell and the casting of the watercooled exhaust manifold. The supports help eliminate vibration, so that the manifold weld joint will not crack.

Adaptable To: The new 162-7694 Turbocharger Support Group is effective with 3516 (29Z1338) Marine Engines and 3516 (25Z6379) Marine Auxiliary Engines. Parts in the 162-7694 Turbocharger Support Group are identified in the chart and the illustration.
