New Control Panel Films Show That SR4B Generators Are Not To Be Wired In The Delta Configuration{7557,7566}

Usage:

All Generator Sets With 447, 448, 449, 450, 592, 593, 594, 595, 596, 597, 598, 663, 667, 690, 691, 692, 693, 695, 696, 697, 822, 824, 825, 826, 827, and 828 Frame Size Generators

Description of Change: Non 2/3 pitch SR4B Generators with 4 or 6 and 10 or 12 lead connections should not be connected in a delta configuration unless derated. When these types of generators are connected in the delta configuration, the circulating current within the delta will cause additional heat in the stator.

Adaptable To: Two new Control Panel Films have eliminated the delta wiring diagram to avoid improper connections. The 139-9026 Film replaces the former 7E-5940 Film on the generators which have 4 or 6 leads. The 139-9025 Film replaces the former 4W-9449 Film on the generators which have 10 or 12 leads.

NOTE: Engine News, March 1998 (SEBD9258-00) addresses the same change but only for generator sets with 447 through 598 frame size generators.
