Two Bearing Close Coupled Gensets Experience A Noise In The Coupling During Engine Shut Down {4456}
Usage:
Two Bearing Close Coupled Gensets With 5N-3765 Flexible Coupling Group
A "crackling" sound from the 3N-6666 Coupling in the 5N-3765 Flexible Coupling Group on the above engines may be noted during engine shutdown. This is a normal sound that is experienced due to the decrease in engine RPM. This sound is a result of the movement of the 5N-3272 Boots and grease inside of the coupling while the typical change in centrifugal force takes place during engine shut down.
