Engine Oil Pan - Remove and Install

  1. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change" for the proper draining and filling procedures.

  1. Remove bolts (3), stud bolts (2), and the fasteners.

  1. Remove clips (4) and (5). Position the harness assembly out of the way.

  1. Remove engine oil pan (1). Remove and discard the isolation seal.

  1. Remove bolts (7) and (8). Remove suction bell assembly (6) .

  1. Remove switch assembly (9) .

  1. Remove plugs (10) and (11) .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install engine oil pan (1) in the reverse order of removal.

      Note: Ensure that the oil pan and mating surfaces are clean and free of oil.

    1. Apply Tooling (A) at four locations marked (A). Tooling (A) should be applied in 4 ± 1 mm (0.16 ± 0.04 inch) diameter beads.

      Note: All joints using Tooling (A) must be assembled within 10 minutes of the application.

    1. Tighten plugs (11) to a torque of 90 ± 15 N·m (66 ± 11 lb ft).

    1. Tighten plugs (10) to a torque of 70 ± 15 N·m (52 ± 11 lb ft).

      Torque Sequence

    1. Tighten bolts (3) and stud bolts (2) in the above sequence.
