Removal Procedure

1. Install Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device on flywheel (2). The weight of flywheel (2) is approximately 44 kg (97 lb).

2. Remove two bolts (1). Install Tooling (B).

3. Remove remaining bolts (1). Remove flywheel (2).

4. Use a hammer and a punch to remove ring gear (3) from flywheel (2).

Installation Procedure

1. Install flywheel (2) in the reverse order of removal.

   1. Raise the temperature of ring gear (3) and install onto flywheel (2).

   2. Apply Tooling (C) to the treads of bolts (1).

   3. Tighten bolts (1), in a star pattern, to a torque of 100 ± 5 N·m (74 ± 4 lb ft). Tighten , in a star pattern, an extra 90°± 5°.
