Vibration Damper and Pulley - Remove and Install

- Remove belt (1) from pulley (2). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Alternator Belt - Inspect/Adjust/Replace".
- Remove nuts (3) and pulley (2).
- Slide vibration damper (5) along studs (4). Attach a suitable lifting device to vibration damper (5). The weight of vibration damper (5) is approximately
50 kg (110 lb) . Remove vibration damper (5) from studs (4). - Remove studs (4), if necessary.
- Attach a suitable lifting device to damper adapter (6), if necessary. The weight of damper adapter (6) is approximately
23 kg (50 lb) . Remove bolts (7) and damper adapter (6).

Thoroughly inspect the viscous damper for signs of leakage or for signs of a dented (damaged) case. Either of these conditions can cause the weight to make contact with the case. This can affect the viscous damper's operation. |
- Install vibration damper (5) in the reverse order of removal.
- Apply Tooling (A) to bolts (7).
- Tighten studs (4) to a torque of
65 ± 10 N·m (48 ± 7 lb ft) . - Tighten nuts (3) to a torque of
135 ± 20 N·m (100 ± 15 lb ft) .
