Introduction
The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.
Problem
Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this problem, but an interim repair has not been defined. Replace with same parts.
To diagnose the cause of these leaks, Caterpillar would like the parts returned labeled in the manor described below.
This document also provides recommendations to communicate information back to Caterpillar which will help in the final resolution.
In the event of failure, provide the pictures and additional information along with TIB Media Number, M0098285, CPI # 426580, Machine S/N, and part hours at failure to your Dealer Technical Communicator (TC). Request the Dealer TC to submit the information through CPI Feedback within the Service Information Management System (SIMS).
In the event of failure, create a Service Information Management System (SIMS) entry for the failed parts to generate a "Send-It-Back" (SIB) request. A SIB request will be issued to you through the SIB process after the SIMS entry is created. Submit the failed parts and reference CPI # 426580.
Do not operate or work on this product unless you have read and understood the instruction and warnings in the relevant Operation and Maintenance Manuals and relevant service literature. Failure to follow the instructions or heed the warnings could result in injury or death. Proper care is your responsibility. |
