Removal Procedure

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury can result from hot coolant, steam and alkali.

At operating temperature, engine coolant is hot and under pressure. The radiator and all lines to heaters or the engine contain hot coolant or steam. Any contact can cause severe burns.

Remove filler cap slowly to relieve pressure only when engine is stopped and radiator cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.

Cooling System Conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

  1. Drain the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

  1. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Belt - Inspect/Adjust/Replace" to remove and install the belt.

  1. Disconnect hoses (1), (2), and (4). Remove plate (3) .

  1. Disconnect hose (7). Remove bolts (5) and water pump (6) .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install water pump (6) in the reverse order of removal.
