- Open the hood.

Illustration 1 g03740854 Show/hide tableIllustration 2 g03740852 - Cut cable straps (1), (2), and (3). Disconnect harness assembly (5). Use Tooling (A) to remove nitrogen oxide sensor (4).
- Install nitrogen oxide sensor (4) in the reverse order of removal.
- Lightly lubricate the threads of nitrogen oxide sensor (4) with Tooling (B).
Note: If a new nitrogen oxide sensor is being installed do not apply Tooling (B) to the threads. New nitrogen oxide sensors should have the required lubricant already on the threads.
- Use Tooling (A) to install nitrogen oxide sensor (4) into the clean emissions module. Tighten nitrogen oxide sensor (4) to a torque of
50 N·m (37 lb ft) .
- Lightly lubricate the threads of nitrogen oxide sensor (4) with Tooling (B).
