Water Temperature Regulator - Remove and Install

Usage:

D6R LGP PPP

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the alternator.

------ WARNING! ------

At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure.

Steam can cause personal injury.

Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.

Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure.

Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.

  1. Drain the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

  1. Loosen hose clamps (1) and (4). Disconnect the hoses from regulator housing (2). Remove bolts (3). Remove regulator housing (2) .

  1. Remove water temperature regulator (5) from regulator housing assembly (2). Remove gasket (6) from regulator housing assembly (2) and from the engine.

  1. Remove seal (7) from housing (2) .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install water temperature regulator (5) in the reverse order of removal.
