Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the differential.

1. Position the differential assembly, as shown. Mark the two halves of the differential case assembly for assembly purposes. Remove bolts (1), ring gear (2), and the upper half of case assembly (3). If necessary, use a suitable press to separate the upper case half from the bevel gear.

2. Remove thrust washer (4) and differential gear (5).

3. Remove the upper half of case assembly (5).

4. Remove spider and gear assembly (6).

5. Remove thrust washer (7), differential pinion (8), and sleeve bearing (9) from spider (10).

6. Remove differential gear (11) and thrust washer (12) from the lower half of case assembly (13).
