Description of Change: A new turbocharger with a forged compressor wheel is used on 3516B Marine Engines. The new turbocharger is used in marine propulsion engines and in marine auxiliary engines.
The forged compressor wheel has higher material strength that provides greater resistance to impact damage and to load cycles.
Adaptable To: The new 287-7209 Turbocharger Gp and the new 287-7208 Turbocharger Cartridge are now used in marine propulsion engines. The new 287-7209 Turbocharger Gp is a direct replacement for the 252-1713 Turbocharger Gp. The 252-1713 Turbocharger Gp is cancelled.
The new 276-8957 Turbocharger Gp and the new 287-7208 Turbocharger Cartridge are now used in marine auxiliary engines. The new 276-8957 Turbocharger Gp is a direct replacement for the 180-9191 Turbocharger Gp. The 180-9191 Turbocharger Gp is cancelled.
The new 287-7208 Turbocharger Cartridge can be used to service the 180-5433 Turbocharger Cartridge Gp. The new turbocharger cartridge can be used in marine propulsion engines and in marine auxiliary engines.
The former 180-5433 Turbocharger Cartridge Gp is not cancelled. The 180-5433 Turbocharger Cartridge Gp will continue to be used in other applications.
