Engine Oil Cooler - Install

Usage:

Installation Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Ensure that the O-ring seals are in position on tube assembly (8) and tube (11). Place clean engine oil on the O-ring seals.

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to engine oil cooler (12). The weight of engine oil cooler (12) on G3508 Engines is approximately 45 kg (100 lb). The weight of engine oil cooler (12) on G3512 Engines is approximately 65 kg (145 lb). The weight of engine oil cooler (12) on G3516 Engines is approximately 78 kg (171 lb). Install tube assembly (8) .

  1. Install engine oil cooler (12) on tube (11). Ensure that tube assembly (8) is in the correct position in the adapter of the engine oil filter housing.

  1. Install bolts (9) .

  1. Install bolts (13) and remove the suitable lifting device.

  1. Connect harness assembly (10) for the detonation sensor.

  1. Place clean engine oil on the O-ring seal on the end of tube (7). Install elbow (6) and tube (7) in the engine oil cooler bonnet. Ensure that the gasket is in place and install the bolts.

  1. Install the gasket and the bolts that hold flange (5) and tube (4) .

  1. Install clamp (1) and the bolts that hold tube (2) on the engine.

  1. Install retainers (3) and the bolts on the ends of tube (2) .

  1. Check the engine oil level in the engine. Add engine oil, if necessary. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil - Change".

  1. Fill the cooling system to the correct level with coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change".

End By: If necessary, install the tube assembly on the prelubrication oil pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Prelubrication Oil Pump - Remove and Install".
