  1. Select a track pin for removal. Position the track pin behind the front idler. See Illustration 1.

  1. Place wood blocks (2) under the front of the track.

  1. Place wood blocks (3) under the track.

  1. Release the pressure in the track adjuster.

    ReferenceSee the procedure Disassembly and Assembly, "Track - Separate" in this module.

  1. Place Tooling (A) in the indicated position. Use Tooling (A) in order to keep the track in position when the track pins are removed.

  1. Remove the bolts from three track shoes. Use two persons in order to remove three track shoes (1) over the track pins that are selected for removal.

  1. Connect Tooling (B) to a hoist. Position Tooling (B) against the track pin.

  1. Push the track pin out of the track with Tooling (B) .

  1. Install Tooling (C) in order to keep the tack together during the removal of the track pins.

  1. Position Tooling (B) against track pin (4) .

  1. Push track pin (4) out of the track. Install Tooling (C) .

  1. Remove Tooling (B) from the track.

  1. Place Tooling (D) between track line (6) and track line (7). Use Tooling (D) in order to separate the track links enough to move track link (5) away from track link (6) and away from track link (7) .

  1. Remove Tooling (C) from the track links.


    NOTICE

    Use only enough force to spread the links apart far enough to separate the joint. Excessive force will cause the links to move on the bushing.


  1. Fasten a hoist to track link (5).

  1. Move track link (5) away from track link (6) and away from track link (7) .

  1. Place a wood block under track link (5) in order to maintain separation from track link (6) and from track link (7) .

  1. Place Tooling (D) between track link (9) and track link (10).

  1. Use Tooling (D) in order to separate the track links enough to remove track components (8) .

  1. Fasten a hoist to track components (8) .

  1. Remove Tooling (C) from track link (9) and from track link (10). Also, remove Tooling (C) from track components (8) .

  1. Remove track components (8) .

  1. Remove seals (11) from track links.

  1. Position the track links, and place the track bushing on Tooling (E), as shown. Push the bushing out of track link (6) .

  1. Position track link (7), and place the track bushing on Tooling (E). Push the track bushing out of track link (7) .

  1. Use a punch and a hammer in order to remove plug (12) from stopper (13) in the track pins.

  1. Remove stoppers (13) from the track pins.
