Assembly Procedure

Note: Check the condition of all seals and of all components. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

1. Install two rings (7) .

   Note: The seams that are on the rings should be 180 degrees away from each other.

2. Install seal (6) that is on the end of the piston with the lip of the seal away from two rings (7) .

3. Install the ring that holds seal (7) in position.

4. Put clean oil on seal (6) and install piston (3) in the cylinder.

5. Install valve (4) and the washer.

6. Install relief valve (5) and the washer.

7. Tighten both valves to a torque of 35 ± 7 N·m (26 ± 5 lb ft).

8. Install seal (1). Put clean oil on the seal.

9. Install ring (2) in the cylinder.

End By: Install the hydraulic track adjusters. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic Track Adjusters - Assemble".
