At operating temperature the implement hydraulic oil tank is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. To prevent possible injury, release the pressure in the implement hydraulic system before hydraulic lines or components are disconnected or removed. |

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Put identification marks on all lines, hoses, wires, and tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses and tubes. This helps prevent fluid loss and contamination of the oil system.
- Remove three bolts (1) from cover (2) . Turn handle (3) in order to release the access panel.

- Install Tool (A) , two nylon lifting straps and a hoist to cover (2) . Remove bolt (4) from cover (2) . Remove cover (2) from the machine. The cover weighs 47 kg (104 lb) .

- Loosen relief valve (5) in order to relieve the pressure in the hydraulic circuit. Loosen retaining nut (6) and disconnect hose (7) from check valve (8) . Loosen retaining nut (9) and disconnect hose (10) from check valve (8) . Loosen retaining nut (11) and disconnect hose (12) from check valve (8) .

- Remove four bolts (13) from check valve (8) . Remove check valve (8) from the frame of the machine.
