131-4095 Tube Assembly May Lack Orifices

Usage:

TRACK-TYPE TRACTORSD11N (74Z, 4HK),
D11R (8Z11-402) TRACK-TYPE TRACTORS

Problem:

The 131-4095 Tube Assembly provides lubrication to the bearings supporting the Bevel Pinion in updated D11N and D11R bevel and transfer gear groups. Refer to Special Instructions REHS0201-00 published December 12, 1997 for usage of this tube assembly. A tube assembly has been found in one dealer's inventory that lacked the two orifices that direct oil into the bearing. Inspection of the tube assemblies in inventory at one parts distribution center reviewed that 16 out of 21 lacked the necessary holes. Inventory of this tube assembly at all other parts distribution facilities is now being inspected.

Dealers are urged to immediately inspect their inventories of this tube assembly. Any tube assemblies without the necessary holes should be removed from inventory and held pending further investigation and instructions. Dealers should also inspect these tube assemblies during the rebuild of any D11 transmission, as we do not know at this time when this may have originated.
