Debris From Manufacturing Operations Caterpillar

Debris From Manufacturing Operations

Usage:

TRACK-TYPE TRACTORSD11N (4HK, 74Z),
D11R (AAF, 8ZR, 9TR, 9XR, 7PZ)

Problem:

Debris from manufacturing operations may exist within the oil hole cavity of the 126-5343 Track Pin. Certain 126-5343 Track Pins may not have had the oil hole cavity effectively cleaned to remove metal chips and/or shavings generated during the manufacturing process. The resulting debris can lead to premature track joint failure.

Solution:

Inspect and clean the 126-5343 Track Pin prior to use. Inspect the pins by inserting a magnet extension tool into the bottom of the oil hole. This will determine the presence of any debris. Cleaning can best be accomplished by inserting a blowout tube all the way to the bottom of the oil hole cavity to remove any chips or metal shavings.

CAUTION: Use of safety glasses with side shields and a full face shield is required along with an OSHA approved chip guard on the blowout tube when performing this cleaning operation.
