Problem:

On machines that are equipped with seats with arm rests, there is not enough clearance for the seat to be installed properly on the slide plate when the existing seat suspension is replaced with the new 187-7716 Seat Suspension.

Solution:

The existing seat must be installed with two 199-4176 Spacers (available December, 2000) between the seat and the slide. Use four 1T-0720 Bolts to install the slide and the spacers to the seat.

NOTE: Refer to Step 13 in the Special Instruction REHS0887 "Installation Procedure for the 187-7716 Suspension Group".

Use the following information for the correct installation of the spacers.

1. Use Illustration 1 and Table 1 in order to fabricate two 199-4176 Spacers.

NOTE: Use 1018 Carbon Steel (or better) in order to fabricate the spacers.

(1) Existing Seat With Arm Rests
(2) 199-4176 Bar
(3) 187-7716 Seat Suspension
2. Use four 1T-0720 Bolts to install the new slide plate and the two 199-4176 Spacers (fabricated) onto the existing seat.

NOTE: The spacers must be installed on each side of the seat (front of the seat to the rear of the seat - not from side to side).
