Problem:

Some HEUI hydraulic pumps have loose mounting screws (1) and/or a loose plug (2). The incorrectly assembled pumps can ONLY be identified by the Date Code on the Pump Identification Plate (3). The illustration shows the locations of the components.

Solution:

Check the Date Code on the Pump Information Plate. The first two numbers of the Date Code indicate the day of the month. The letter indicates the month (A = January, B = February, C = March, etc). The last three numbers indicate the year (000 = 2000). For example the Date Code 30E000 = 30 May 2000, and the Date Code 05G000 = 05 July 2000. Hydraulic pumps with Date Codes 30E000 through 05G000 may have the loose screws and plug. The correct tightening torque for the four screws (1) is 7.5 ± 0.5 N·m (66 ± 5 lb in). The correct tightening torque for the plug (2) is 25 ± 3 N·m (18 ± 2 lb ft).
