Modification To The Spacer Plate For The Recoil Spring

Problem:
Track or Sprocket Jumping.
Solution:
Add a plate to the existing plate on the end of the tube in the recoil spring assembly in order to increase the pre-load on the spring.
Figure 1.
- 1. Use the original plate assembly as a pattern to fabricate a spacer plate.
- 2. Use the dimensions that are shown in Figure 1.
NOTE: The thickness of the fabricated plate must not exceed 10 mm (0.39 inches).
- 3. Cut or burn four notches in the plate (dimension 4.).
- 4. Align the oil holes of the spacer plate with the holes in the plate assembly.
- 5. Tack weld the spacer plate in order to prevent the plate from shifting and blocking the oil flow.
