Simple Calibration

Usage:

990K A9P
The Simple Calibration update will adjust the system calibration to match a reference scale. Simple Calibration can be performed on as few as 1 or as many as 15 trucks. The more trucks used, the better the calibration will be fine-tuned. The recommended number of trucks for most applications is 5.

Note: The Simple Calibration update cannot be performed unless the operator presses the Store button after each truck load. The Simple Calibration truck list is cleared when the machine is keyed-off.

A new Simple Calibration erases all prior simple calibrations. Only the latest Simple Calibration on one or more trucks is used to fine-tune the scale system. Once a Simple Calibration is started, additional trucks may be adjusted in the Simple Calibration until a new truck is stored. A Simple Calibration will begin adjusting the next weight measurement but will not affect any weights previously measured.

For best results, the system should be zeroed when requested through the Display.

To perform a Simple Calibration, record:

  • The weight of the trucks at the scale house

  • The weight that is displayed by the scale system for the trucks

  • A recent tare weight of the trucks being used for the Simple Calibration

The scale house weights will be entered through the display for the Simple Calibration. Perform the following to access the Simple Calibration update:

  1. Select the Service menu.

  2. Select the Calibrations menu.

  3. Select the Payload menu.

  4. Select the Simple Calibrations menu.

Note: The most recent 15 trucks stored are saved in the list, with the newest trucks at the bottom of the list.

The Truck ID in the Simple Calibration list will match the Truck ID of the truck when stored.

To continue the Simple Calibration update, perform the following actions:

  1. Select the truck requiring adjustment.

  2. Press the OK button.

  3. Input the weight for the truck that was reported by the scale.

  4. Press the OK button to accept the weight.

  5. Repeat Step 1 through Step 4 for up to 15 trucks.

Note: Enter truck adjustment weights for all trucks that site scale data is available. Truck adjustment weights must be added even if the value in the Simple Calibration menu is the same as the scale weight.

The last truck whose weight was entered will be removed from the Simple Calibration list.

Note: When identifiers for the truck are not used, verify the proper truck for each weight. Remember that the trucks are listed in the order of loading. Accuracy could be adversely affected if the verification of the truck is not performed. After the trucks are entered, the scale system will adjust the accuracy for future truck loads. The average truck weight should be closer to the scale value after this procedure is performed.
