New Cast Iron Deaerators Replace Former Aluminum Deaerators{1350}

Usage:

3412 (38S) Engine With 9Z5359 Modification (825, 900, 1000 Horsepower Marine Propulsion Engines)

Description of Change: New cast iron deaerators are available for the above engines. The new deaerators replace the former aluminum deaerators. Erosion could cause the former aluminum deaerators to deteriorate and leak. The new cast iron deaerators should significantly increase service life.

Adaptable To: The part numbers of the deaerators have not changed. The new cast iron PP1002 Left Hand Deaerator and PP1003 Right Hand Deaerator (Pantropic Power Products, Inc. part numbers) are available as replacements for the former aluminum deaerators. These parts are not available from the Caterpillar parts system and must be ordered at the following address:
