Usage:
3516 (4MJ) Marine Engines
Description of Change: A new cylinder head group is used. The new cylinder head group includes a new rotocoil assembly. The new rotocoil assembly includes a shield that helps reduce the amount of oil on the valve stem. The shield will help minimize the amount of oil that runs down the valve stem and past the valve guide that can lead to slobber during prolonged periods at engine idle.
Location of new 4P2520 Rotocoil Assembly in the new 4P2470 Cylinder Head Group. Components of the 4P2520 Rotocoil Assembly. 4P2521 Rotocoil Assembly (1). 4P2522 Shield (2).
Adaptable To: The new 4P2470 Cylinder Head Group is a direct replacement for the former 7C8120 Cylinder Head Group in the engine arrangement. Sixteen new 4P2470 Cylinder Head Groups are required for each engine. The new cylinder head group is in effect with 3516 Marine Engine 4MJ38. The only difference between the new and former cylinder head group is the addition of the 4P2522 Shield to the 4P2521 Rotocoil Assembly.
The new 4P2522 Shield (2) can be added to the 4P2521 Rotocoil Assembly (1) on the former 7C8120 Cylinder Head Groups or the Remanufactured OR2880 Cylinder Head Groups used on earlier engines. Four new 4P2522 Shields are required for each cylinder head. The 4P2520 Rotocoil Assembly is made from a 4P2521 Rotocoil Assembly (1) and 4P2522 Shield (2). See the illustration.
