The 0R2818, 0R2819, and 0R3231 Remanufactured 3208 Truck Engines replace the former 0R0937, 0R0974, and 0R0799 Remanufactured 3208 Truck Engines. The former engines are canceled. The new remanufactured engines have 17.5:1 compression ratio pistons. These pistons help reduce the quantity of white smoke generated during cold start conditions. These engines can be used in all the same applications as the former engines.
No single parts manual can be used to identify all the components in these 17.5:1 compression ration engine arrangements. However, all the serviced parts can be identified by using a combination of the parts manuals listed in the chart.
The 0R2076 Remanufactured Short Block can be used for all three of these engines. The 0R2821 Remanufactured Fuel Nozzle and 0R2822 Nozzle Kit are available as service replacements for the 7W3710 Fuel Nozzle.
The 0R2818, 0R2819, and 0R3231 Remanufactured 3208 Truck Engines will have "SERV MAG" and the date "JAN1893" stamped on the engine information plate. This information will appear in the reference serial number and reference arrangement number locations. The date refers to the Service Magazine in which this article appears. This article can be used as a reference to help ensure the correct parts are used when servicing these engines.
The 0R2818 and 0R2819 Remanufactured 3208 Truck Engines built prior to mid January 1993 were not stamped with a Service Magazine date. This article also applies to these earlier engines.
