There are three different designs for the drive end of the 75 Amp, and some 50 Amp, brushless alternators. Illustrations 1, 2, and 3 identify the differences in the designs. Use the procedures that follow for 8C6163, 4N3986, 4N3987, 8N0999, 5S6698, and 3T1888 (5S9088) Alternator Groups.
Chart A and Illustrations 1 through 3 identify the components used in the different designs.

Drive End Bearing
When servicing the drive end bearing, remove and discard the components identified in Chart B. Install the components identified in Chart C.
Servicing Fan, Slinger, Outside Collar
When servicing the fan, slinger, or outside collar, remove and discard the components identified in Chart D. Install the components identified in Chart E.
