Repair Of Drain Plug Threads In Oil Pan{1302}

All 3400 Series Engines
Reports have been received of damage to the threads in the drain hole of oil pans on 3400 Series Engines. These oil pans were supplied with a 35 mm (1.375") diameter threaded drain. It is possible to repair the drain plug threads in the oil pan on 3400 Series Engines. If the threads are damaged, drill the hole to 36 mm (1.422"). Use a tap to cut 1.50"-12 threads in the hole. Be sure to remove any metal particles caused by machining from the oil pan. Install a 2D8390 Plug and a 6F4868 Gasket in the drain hole.
