New Speed Setting Motor Assembly On Woodward PSG Governor Has More Resistance To Moisture And Vibration Damage{1264}

Usage:

All Engines With Woodward PSG Governors And 8N7848 Speed Setting Motor Assemblies

Description of Change: A new speed setting motor assembly is used on the above engines. The new motor assemblies have a metal case around the motor that gives protection from moisture. Formerly, moisture could cause damage to the internal components.

The new motor assemblies also have a more rigid mounting on the cover. This helps prevent damage to the motor assembly that was caused by engine vibration.

Adaptable As: The new motor assemblies are a direct replacement for the former motor assemblies when used with the other parts shown in Chart A.

There are some Woodward PSG Governors that use a 5N3910 Cover Assembly. This cover assembly has a motor assembly that is mounted horizontally for added clearance. These cover assemblies include a cover and a motor assembly which are not serviced separately. Different components, which can be ordered separately at less cost, can be used instead of the 5N3910 Cover Assembly when there is enough clearance above the governor. These new parts are shown in Chart B. See the illustration for the location of these parts.
