--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------

Reports show that some EG3P and EG10P Actuators have been returned to the factory because their operation was not correct. Inspection of the actuators showed that internal adjustments had been made. Specifically, the spring seat adjustment screw had been turned. As a result, it was not possible to get correct governor operation by adjusting the linkage or adjusting the control panel settings. To prevent this type of problem, do not make any internal adjustments to the Woodward EG3P or EG10P Actuators.

The response time of the actuator can be adjusted on later actuators. This adjustment is made with the needle valve on the outside of the actuator. Normally, this needle valve is turned in as far as it will go (clockwise) and then backed out 3/4 of a turn. Turning the needle valve in (clockwise) will increase the actuator response time. Opening the needle valve (turning it counterclockwise) will decrease the actuator response time.
