Correct Oil Level And End Play Settings For Marine Transmission{3303,3305,3354}

Usage:

All MG507 Marine Transmissions Used With 3208 Engines

Description of Change: New end play settings for the input and output shaft bearings will increase the service life of the tapered roller bearings. The new end play setting is 0.08 mm to 0.13 mm (.003 to .005"). This change should be made whenever an MG507 Marine Transmission is disassembled.

Make a note in the Service Manual "Marine Transmission - Twin Disc MG507, "Form SENR2138, to show this change.

Oil level checking procedures as supplied in the service manuals must be strictly followed. The oil level should be checked daily. Check the oil level with the engine at idle speed and the marine transmission in neutral. The oil level must be maintained between the full mark, and 25.4 mm (1.00") above the full mark on the oil level gauge. Check the oil level immediately after starting the engine, with transmission oil at or near ambient temperature. The dip stick can be remarked to show this change.
