Service Tools With Dual Scale (U.S. Standard And Metric) Will Again Be Available {0623,0653}

Usage:

Caterpillar began planning for conversion to the metric system (System International Units) in November 1970. Since that time our engineering, manufacturing and service information has been converted to S.I. units. As part of that process we anounced in the November 2, 1982 Service Magazine that all future service tooling would be provided only in S.I. units.

In order to prevent any inconvenience to customers or dealers, dual scale service tools will be released again where it is possible to display both units. The recently released pressure gauges that are metric only will continue to be available as long as there is sufficient demand.

Speciality gauges such as those used by hydraulic puller applications, XT hose press, tetra gauge, tire pressure gauge, nitrogen charging gauges, and boost group, will be offered with dual scale under new part numbers.

New dual scale tools should be available later this year and will be announced as they become available.
