New Ahead Clutch Pilot Bearing Assembly Used On Main Shaft{3302}

7231, 7241 Marine Transmission

Description of Change: A new bearing assembly is now used in the main shaft groups on 7231 and 7241 Marine Transmissions. The new bearing has an X-bar cage design and will have a longer service life in high rpm applications.

The former race and roller assembly had a strip cage design. The former race and roller assembly has not had a satisfactory service life in some applications where 1800 rpm engines drive ahead through the reverse gear train. When driving ahead through the reverse gear train, the rpm of the main shaft is double the rpm of the engine.

Adaptable As: The new 6V6654 Bearing Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 1P7110 Race And Roller Assembly, which is canceled. The new bearing is in effect with Serial Number 39E480 on 7241 Marine Transmissions and Serial Number 17W742 on 7231 Marine Transmissions.

Location of 6V6654 Bearing in main shaft group.
