8T-0860 Pressure Gauge     | 1     | |
6V-9830 Cap As     | 1     | |
6V-9509 Face Seal Plug     | 1     |
Note: 8T-0860 Pressure Gauge is part of 4C-4890 Hydraulic Test Fitting Gp.
To prevent personal injury when checks are made while the machine is in operation, make sure only approved personnel are on the machine. Keep other personnel off the machine and in view of the operator. Make sure checks are done in an open area. |
- Assemble the 8T-0860 Pressure Gauge with the proper fittings from the 4C-4890 Hydraulic Test Fitting Gp .
- Apply the parking brake.

(1) Test port "E" (2) "Port M" or supply line to the propel transmission (3) Manifold and relief valve (priority) |
Illustration 2 | g00885686 |
The Propel Transmission is Located in Front of the Mixing Chamber in the Center of the Machine. (4) Propel transmission (5) Supply line "Port M" |
Note: You must disconnect the supply line on the manifold and relief valve (3) at "Port M" (2) in order to properly test the circuit. This supply line goes to the propel transmission. The supply line at "Port M" (2) can be disconnected at the manifold and relief valve (3), but this is not recommended. The location of the supply line at "Port M" (5) will give the operator enough clearance in order to properly disconnect the supply line.
- Move the propel control lever to the NEUTRAL position.
- Attach the 8T-0860 Pressure Gauge to "Port E" (1) on the manifold and relief valve (3) .
- Move to the propel transmission.
Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin. |
- Disconnect the supply line at "Port M" (5) to the propel transmission. Plug the open port.
- Use 6V-9830 Cap As and 6V-9509 Face Seal Plug in order to cap propel transmission (4) and plug supply line (5) .

- Start the engine. Run the engine at low idle.
Note: Make sure that all personnel are clear of the machine before you proceed. Heed the warnings in the beginning of this test.
- Check the pressure reading at the manifold and relief valve (3). The pressure reading should be 9308 kPa ± 1380 kPa (1350 psi ± 200 psi) at "Port E" (1) .
- Stop the engine.
- Assemble the supply line at "Port M" (5) to propel transmission (4) .
Note: Do not attempt to adjust the relief cartridge on the machine.
- As this test is performed, the hydraulic pressure will increase at "Port E" (1). You will need to wait for a period of at least ten minutes before you can safely remove the test equipment. Observe the pressure gauge as the hydraulic pressure begins to bleed down.
Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause serious injury to persons on or near the machine. To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the hydraulic system. |
- Remove the test equipment.
- If the pressure reading is not within 9308 kPa ± 1380 kPa (1350 psi ± 200 psi) at "Port E" (1), remove the relief valve cartridge and bench set the relief valve cartridge.
- Repeat the test procedure.
- If the relief cartridge is still not within this range, replace the cartridge.
