Steering Stops (Front) - Check and Adjust

Usage:

RM-350B AXW

------ WARNING! ------

To prevent personal injury when checks are made while the machine is in operation, make sure only approved personnel are on the machine. Keep other personnel off the machine and in view of the operator. Make sure checks are done in an open area.

  1. Apply the parking brake.

  1. Start the engine. Run the engine at low idle.

    The Console for Speed and Direction is Located to the Right of the Operator.

  1. Ensure that control switch (1) (steering mode) is in front steer mode (2) .

  1. Turn the steering wheel to maximum right.

  1. Observe the tire and the frame. The tires should not make contact with the frame. Repeat this step for the left side.

  1. If the tires make contact with the frame, the steering stop must be adjusted.

    The Steering Stops are Located on the Inside of the Front Axle Housings.

    (3) Stop bolt (steering)

    (4) Stop locknuts (steering)

    (5) Distance for adjustment

  1. Loosen steering stop locknuts (2) .

  1. Adjust stop bolt (1) (steering) until the correct measurement is reached.

    Note: There are three different tires that may be purchased with your machine. The correct measurement for the steering stop is given for each tire below:

    • Measurement (5) for standard reclamation tires should be 51 mm (2 inch).

    • Measurement (5) for wide flotation tires should be 76 mm (3 inch).

    • Measurement (5) for wide flotation tires (Special European Order) should be 70 mm (2.75 inch).

  1. Recheck the steering stops.

  1. Turn the steering wheel to maximum right.

  1. Observe the tire and the frame. The tires should not make contact with the frame. Repeat this step for the left side.

  1. Adjust the steering stops until the tires clear the frame. There may be some variance from these initial settings. This will depend on your machine and the tires that are equipped on your machine.
