Description of Change: Several changes have been made to the final drive and brake wheel group. The length of the spline on the spindle has decreased. The width of the bearing journals have increased. The width of the laser hardened area has increased. Because the length of the spline has changed, a new hub is required. The part number of the spindle has not changed. The new hub can be used with a new spindle or with a former spindle. The former hub can only be used with a former spindle. The distance to the step in the spline is used to distinguish the new spindles from the former spindles. See Illustration 1 and Table 1 for the distance to the step in the spline of the spindles.
Adaptable To: The new 210-4573 Hub is a direct replacement for the former 139-7628 Hub. The new hub is effective with 797 (S/N: 5YW273) Off-Highway Truck.

The Distance to the Step in Spline of the 139-7621 Spindle     | |
---|---|
New Spindle     | 110 ± 0.5 mm (4.33 ± 0.02 inch)     |
Former Spindle     | 138.1 ± 0.5 mm (5.44 ± 0.02 inch)     |
Note: The 139-7621 Spindle is part of the 139-7622 Spindle As. The 139-7622 Spindle As was replaced by the 247-0870 Spindle As. The 139-7622 Spindle As can be serviced by the 247-0870 Spindle As or the remanufactured part number 10R-0774 Spindle As.
Illustration 2 | g01288002 |
The remanufactured part number 10R-0774 Spindle As is an upgraded 139-7621 Spindle that uses the laser cladding process to increase the area of the outer wheel bearing to the design of the current 247-0796 Spindle. The laser cladding process is a fusion weld that fuses new metal onto the base material of the spline in order to build up areas prior to finish machining. The remanufactured spindle assembly meets the required hardness and the dimensions of the 247-0869 Spindle. Illustration 2 is a representation of the remanufactured 10R-0774 Spindle As with the increase to the area of outer wheel bearing and the decrease in the length of the spline.
