Air Cleaner - Remove and Install

Removal Procedure

  1. Loosen hose clamps (1) on hose (2). Remove the hose and the hose clamps.

  1. Loosen bolt assemblies (3) and remove air cleaner cup assembly (4) and the gasket.

  1. Remove primary air filter element assembly (5) .

  1. Remove secondary air filter element assembly (6) .

  1. Disconnect tube connectors (7) and remove tube (9) from elbow (8). The elbow is located on air filter service indicator (10) .

  1. Remove nuts (11) and the washers from air cleaner housing (12) .

  1. Remove bolts (13) and the washers from air cleaner housing (12). Remove the air cleaner housing.

  1. Remove bolts (15) and the washers. Remove pipe assembly (14) from the bracket.

Installation Procedure

    Note: Check the condition of the gasket, the hose and the filter element assemblies. If any of these parts are worn or damaged, use new replacement parts, if necessary.

  1. Position pipe assembly (14) on the bracket. Install bolts (15) and the washers.

  1. Position air cleaner housing (12) on the bracket. Install bolts (13) and the washers.

  1. Install nuts (11) and the washers on air cleaner housing (12) .

  1. Connect tube (9) with tube connectors (7) on elbow (8). The elbow is located on air filter service indicator (10) .

  1. Install secondary air filter element assembly (6) .

  1. Install primary air filter element assembly (5) .

  1. Install air cleaner cup assembly (4) and the gasket. Install bolt assemblies (3). Tighten bolt assemblies (3) to a torque of 6.2 ± 1.1 N·m (54.88 ± 9.74 lb in).

  1. Install hose (2) with hose clamps (1) .
