Fan - Remove and Install

Usage:

583R 2XS

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Tilt the radiator and the guard assembly. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Radiator Guard and Radiator - Tilt".

Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.

  1. Use a suitable lifting device and a nylon lifting strap to support the fan assembly.

  1. Remove eight bolts (3) and the eight washers.

  1. Remove fan assembly (1) from fan drive (2). The weight of the fan assembly is 39.5 kg (87 lb).

Installation Procedure

  1. Use a suitable lifting device and a nylon lifting strap to support the fan assembly.

  1. Install fan assembly (1) on fan drive (2) .

  1. Install the eight washers and eight bolts (3). The weight of the fan assembly is 39.5 kg (87 lb).

End By: Replace the radiator and the guard assembly. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Radiator Guard and Radiator - Tilt Back".
