Air Tank (Primary) - Remove and Install

Usage:

785C 1HW

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Install the retaining cable. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Truck Body Retaining Cable - Remove and Install".

  2. Release the pressure in the air system. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Air Tanks (Brake) - Purge".

------ WARNING! ------

In order to prevent possible personal injury, release the air pressure from the air tank before disconnecting any components of the air system.

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Note: Put identification marks on all hose assemblies and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to prevent contaminants from entering the system.

  9. Use the hoist in order to remove air tank (2). The weight of air tank (2) is 159 kg (350 lb).

Installation Procedure

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the installation procedure, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble.

Note: Before installation, apply 5P-3413 Pipe Sealant to the tapered threads of the elbows, the relief valve and the check valve.
